Traveling Light.

I’ve been able to do quite a bit of traveling during my sojourn here on Planet Earth. This is one of the great joys of my life. I’ve visited many of the great metropolitan centers and magnificent places of nature. My modes of transport have been many. Sometimes, I soar above the landscape. Oftentimes, I travel where the rubber meets the road. One of my favorite ways to travel is on two wheels. Recently, I journeyed from my home in North Central Arizona to visit my Mom Betty, brother David, and sister-in-law Sharon in the great State of Texas.

In the picture, you can see my current motorcycle. It performed flawlessly over the course of the 1730 miles there and back. It’s a 2007 Yamaha V-Star for those of you who might wonder.

It’s been a while since my Mom and I had a chance to visit in person. It is always a pleasure. I always enjoy the company of David and Sharon. We love to hike and appreciate being outside in nature. Our conversations can range from the historical to the natural to the spiritual. We all value and enjoy the perspectives the other has to offer.

Dave and Sharon acted as my tour guides while I was there. They suggested we take a trip to a nearby town named Medicine Park in Oklahoma. Founded in 1908 by Elmer Thomas, a young lawyer and State Senator, Medicine Park has a picturesque old-style ambiance. This reflects the early twentieth century when people still knew the value of integrating towns with the natural surroundings to create harmony.

Many of the early buildings of Medicine Park were constructed of rock native to the nearby Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. Two dams were built on Medicine Creek to create Bath Lake Swimming Hole. Medicine Park became a popular resort. It was frequented by many notable figures throughout the 20th Century. This popularity continues to this day.

I felt a very peaceful vibe that morning. We walked along the shaded Medicine Creek pathway. Ducks fished in the clean waters of the creek or congregated on the tree lined shore. Living in the high desert, I had been missing the healing presence of water in the form of oceans, lakes and rivers in my life. Water carries the frequency of Source Energy and most of my life I’ve lived by large bodies of water.

As we learned in the blog post Frequency Supremacy, energy and spirit are two different words for the same thing. Therefore the term Holy Spirit can be translated into the modern vernacular as Pure Source Energy. In the ritual of baptism, water symbolizes the Holy Spirit. It represents Pure Source Energy. This energy is accepted as the guiding light of the individual. Interestingly, in the Native American Tradition, the term “medicine” has an expanded meaning. It includes energy and not only medicinal substances. I’ve learned from my Native American friends and teachers. They have taught me that in their beliefs, they revere the restorative, healing, and life giving energy of water. Therefore I found it very revealing that the stream flowing through this idyllic town was named Medicine Creek. In my mind I was translating it to High Energy Water.

We strolled down the beautiful creek walk and back through the town. Then, we took a ride along Lake Lawtonka. Finally, we went up to the top of Mount Scott. The view from this vantage point of the Wichita Mountains, Medicine Park and the lake were amazing and inspirational. Another bit of wisdom I’ve learned is that mountains concentrate and combine the positive energy of Mother Earth and Father Sun. This synergy gives the receptive person a “mountaintop experience” of peace, joy and elation. In other words, pure Source Energy.

My trip to Texas was more fulfilling than I could have imagined. It included great times of meaningful conversation. There were also excursions into the magnificence of nature. The entire time the weather was some of the best I’ve ever experienced while on vacation.

Finally, as a photographer, I feel I owe it to Dave to post a better picture of him. I only took the one of him and Sharon, and it isn’t very kind to him. In my defense, due to the sun, I couldn’t see the screen very well on my phone. Here’s one I found on his Facebook page which I feel captures his essence. And finally, for Children of all ages, I wrote a book. It teaches in a fun and humorous way. It explains the concepts of being curious, open-minded, and a critical thinker. It explore the variety of ocean creatures.

Finnegan is a fish in the Great Wide Ocean who goes on a journey to see all he can of his watery world. He encounters many colorful characters along the way. Then he has an encounter that causes him to question the things he’s been taught in school. He and his Angelfish friend Gabby begin to explore the idea that there may be more to the world than the wet one they live in.
